SESSION, audiovisual multi-projector performance

SESSION
audiovisual performance - 16mm - super 8 film projectors - pedals
ca 30-40 minutes

Session draws from the spirit of a skate session — an improvised dialogue between body, space, environment, and inner state. As in skating, movement emerges from the immediate relationship between body and space, from contact with the surface, friction, and sound. Each attempt opens up a new movement — a new possibility — pushing the boundaries of what lies within.
Or, in Beckettian words: “Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”

The material for the multiple-projector performance emerges from personal footage and photographs, found images and visual traces of time, alongside contributions from collaborators across the world.

Different visual formats, contexts, and ways of approaching skateboarding enter a shared process of photocopying and image transformation — a process built on mutual trust — with images directly printed onto celluloid of Super 8 film, accumulating into something like a fanzine in motion.

Session is not a film defined in advance. It is an evolving process, continuously dismantled and rebuilt through each performance, absorbing new images, materials, and contributions along the way.

The performance becomes an active space of editing. A temporary relationship between images, projectors, space, the audience, and sound unfolds in parallel through the interaction of projector vibrations, analogue devices, pedals, and pre-recorded sounds, stvarajuci rez u trenutku pogleda.
