It is a study of direct repercussion when the most elementary motion echoes as far as spilling over into all audible space and its visible impact is the instant generation and production of a physical publication.
An experience and exploration of the makings of the mark: the traces we leave behind as direct consequences to our existence, really unknowingly, that take a variety of forms and may serve as later reminders of our positive presence.
« FOUR WHEELS TRACES IN COMPOSITION, STENCIL TO RELEASE » is based on basic spatial movement materialized by the displacement of a wheel-mounted object across plane surfaces. The movement is dictated by the subject’s cognition as it supports their body, thus relies on the responsibility of their input to react and signal a change of state a step ahead in time.
Those signals take the form of a soundscape generated by the amplified elements of the set-up, as well as the one of observable traces on the surface - themselves emphasized by the use of chalk - resulting in documentation of one’s once-will; supposedly a unique intent until the blur of the lines become more apparent with the introduction of the stencil duplicator.
